Step 1 – Configure Your Agent’s Languages and Voices
To support multiple languages and voices, you’ll start by creating a Language Group. 00:14
Log into the Syllable Console.
Click the Languages tab, then select New Language Group.
Name your group (e.g., Car Loan Demo Voices).
Add languages—Syllable supports English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, and Russian.
Assign voice providers and sample different voices (OpenAI, Google, or ElevenLabs).
Set up DTMF inputs (e.g., press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish).
Optionally skip reading the default language prompt.
Click Save.
đź’ˇ Tip: Review the list of supported languages and voice providers.
Step 2 – Assign the Language Group to Your Agent

In the Language Group dropdown, select the group you just created.
Add a label for clarity if needed.
Click Save.
Step 3 – Add a Multilingual Prompt to Your Agent’s Welcome Message
Let’s now inform your users that they can interact in their language of choice by updating your Message. 02:38
Open the Messages tab.
Click Edit on your welcome message.
Indicate the point in your message when you’d like your agent to offer additional languages.
Use the Language Toggle Tool to control voice/language switches mid-message.
